ANGA COM is Europe’s leading Exhibition and Conference for Broadband, Television and Online. Key topics are Gigabit Networks, FTTH, 5G, Wifi, Fixed Mobile Convergence, OTT, AppTV, Cloud TV, Video Streaming, Smart City and Smart Home.
In 2019, ANGA COM set an outstanding record with more than 20,000 participants and over 500 exhibitors. Amongst the participants from a total of 83 countries were 540 network and platform operators serving more than 200 million households all over Europe, as well as 370 media companies. 44 percent of the participants belonged to the senior level.
With Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, RTL and a large number of local fiber network operators, the Cologne area is Europe`s leading business hub for broadband and media. About 40 million people live within a radius of only 250 kilometers. Three international airports (Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt) can be reached in less than one hour. These are unique conditions to showcase our industry to Europe and beyond.  

With more than 2,500 participants, the extended conference programme was better attended than ever. Among the highlights were four summit discussions with equally top-class speakers from the broadband and the media industry. Excellent attended networking highlights of ANGA COM have been the open air plaza with food trucks and the ANGA COM Night with 1,800 participants.

Dr. Peter Charissé, Managing Director of ANGA COM: “We have a particularly large number of newcomers in the fields of fiber optics, IP video, AppTV and OTT. Many small and medium-sized booths have been enlarged compared to the previous year. Visitors can expect more high-tech and variety than ever before.”

Highlights of the international programme are the International Content Summit and the International CTO Summit on the first day of the event. Speakers at the International Content Summit “Content Strategies for Broadband Networks, Satellite and OTT” are: Thomas Christensen (CEO, Nordija), Jeroen Ghijsen (Founder & CEO, Metrological), Marc Antoine d’Halluin (Chairman of the Board, M7 Group), Philippe Oliva (Executive Vice President of Sales and Products, Eutelsat), Jean-Marc Racine (Chief Product Officer and General Manager of EMEAR, Synamedia), Wilfried Urner (CEO, HD PLUS) and Christoph Vilanek (CEO, freenet). 

For the International CTO Summit have confirmed: Colin Buechner (Managing Director / Chief Network Officer, Liberty Global), Michael Fränkle (Senior Vice President Networks & CTO, TDC Group), Elmar Grasser (CTO, Sunrise Communications), Thomas Helbo (EVP, Fixed Technology, Tele2), Gerhard Mack (CTO, Vodafone Deutschland), Steve McCaffery (SVP International Operations, CommScope) and Axel Sihn (Managing Partner & CEO, WISI).

ANGA COM – Exhibition and Conference for Broadband, Television & Online – last recorded 500 exhibitors and 21, 700 participants from 78 countries. With a 47 percent share of international visitors ANGA COM provides a broadband and audiovisual media focused market place for network operators, vendors and content providers all over Europe. Cooperation partners include BUGLAS e.V., Federal Broadband Bureau, German TV Platform e.V., ISBE – International Society of Broadband Experts, RTL International, SCTE – The Society for Broadband Professionals, VATM e.V., VAUNET e.V. and ZVEI e.V. For the first time there will be four summit discussions in the conference programme: The Broadband Summit, a new Media Summit, the International Content Summit and the International CTO Summit. The Board Members and Managing Directors of Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, Tele Columbus, EWE TEL, NetCologne and Deutsche Glasfaser have already confirmed their participation in the Broadband Summit on the topic of “Fiber Roll-Out on the Test Bench”.


   
Hot topics are Fiber, Smart City, 5G, Internet of Things, Smart Home, Content, Streaming, App TV, Cloud TV and Personalized TV. Within the core areas of broadband and audiovisual media, especially Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Start-Ups and Cyber Security will be expanded.

the Broadband Office of the German Federation and the Association of Telecommunications and Value-Added Service Providers (VATM) will organize a joint Broadband Day for the second time. After the successful premiere in 2018, the topic Smart City will be in focus this year. The Broadband Day offers free access for all visitors upon prior online registration.

The new concept for the extended conference agenda has worked out. On the third day, the Broadband Day, which was jointly organized by ANGA COM, the Broadband Office of the German Federation and the Association of Telecommunications and Value-Added Service Providers (VATM), the number of participants increased by 24 percent compared to the previous year.

ANGA COM brings together network operators, vendors and content providers on all issues of the broadband and media distribution. In 2019, over 500 exhibitors and more than 20,000 participants from 83 countries took part. The next show date is 12 to 14 May 2020 in Cologne/Germany.
 
With 200 exhibitors already registered for ANGA COM 2020, the booking situation is again excellent.
