To technology in iron & steel industry is continuously improved to obtain the best possible performance. The improved plant performance gives rise to the higher quality improvement and lower cost, and simultaneously environmental friendly plant operation.
The control systems and field instruments are working at the various processes of the iron and steel plant. The process of iron and steel plant is starting from Sinter plant, Coke oven etc, and the blast furnace, iron pre-treatment are following. The products are widely used at furnace control and utilities in important processes (such as continuous casting machine (CCM)) in downstream of iron / steel making process.

With the aim of gaining young people for the metal working and mechanical engineering sector, the Young People’s Foundation for Mechanical Engineering, in cooperation with partners from industry, is organising the Special Show for Young People at AMB 2020. Firstly, the event is aimed at school students and vocational students, who may discover their enthusiasm at the special show for technical training professions, possible courses of study and interesting career prospects. Secondly, specialist teachers and instructors in mechanical engineering companies will have the opportunity to find out about new technologies or to be inspired by ideas for measures to improve vocational training. In addition to interesting information on training, careers etc., there will also be many opportunities for visitors to themselves try out small interactive projects in mechanical engineering.
How the extensive process chain for the manufacture of a workpiece is composed of the individual process steps: This will be shown in the Smart Factory special show at AMB 2020. The various digitally networked companies will represent their individual manufacturing steps, at the same time showing the development from the start of the order to the finished product, both in reality and virtually.
To get hold of a ticket for the world championship of handcrafts as one of the best young German metal-cutters or mechanics – this is the great aim of some of the young talents at World Skills Germany. At AMB 2020, as an initiative to promote national and international vocational competitions, World Skills Germany will provide young specialists with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in CNC turning, CNC milling and in polymechanics. The young talents (apprentices and young specialists up to the age of 22 years) will be assessed on the basis of their work pieces produced.
Competition final in Stuttgart: The specialist magazine fertigung will organise the final round of the competition “Lathe Operator of the Year 2020” within the framework of AMB. After a preliminary selection, the five best candidates will compete for the title: The lathe operator who produces the best workpiece in the shortest time wins! In addition to the award, for the finalists there are also prizes to be won, provided by this year’s industry partner and sponsor of the competition, Citizen Machinery Europe.
Already in the run-up to AMB 2020, companies and exhibitors can apply for the MM Award with their product novelties. Industrial production and aesthetics are not mutually exclusive. The AMB exhibitors can prove this within the framework of the “Art meets Technology” competition. This year’s task: to manufacturer an instrument using AMB machining processes. Under the direction of the specialist magazine mav, which controls the competition, all the entries submitted will be collected and evaluated in advance. The verdict of a jury and of the visitors on location will finally show who leads the way in the sector.
